The club was mentioned as an Athletic Football Club in 1930, a little later, it was recognized as a main club. Players of the decades included Georgios Bouras of Domisthini (), Livas Mimis of Kleomenis, Spiros Festas of Konstandinou, Vasileios Moutevelis of Georgiou, Ioanis Moutevelis of Petros, Vassilios Kotaridis of Dimitriou, Andonios Kartsionas of Nikolaos, Dimitrios Moragiorgas, Kostas Moragiorgas, Ioannis Theokas, Grigorios Kotsiaris, Dimitrios Lafazanos, Hristos Yannakoutzos, Ioannis Kotaridis, Ioannis Petropoulos, Konstantinos Kapralos, Dinos Kotsiaris, Giannis Papanikolaou, etc.
Asteras Athletic Football (Soccer) Club was officially founded in 1955 with the colors blue and white and the emblems of a shining star in white part and a circe. Some year later, it was definitely inactive until 1971 when it refounded again. In later years, it played in the prefectural first division and first entered the Fourth Division in 1999.
The team played for three seasons with the national division without relegating. After suffering its economic difficulties in 2008, it could not take part in the fourth division, not even the prefectural fourth dviision. Lately in 2009, with the councilling of its athletic residents of the seat relegated to the prefectural second division in the 2009-10 season.
